Located on Deck 6, Heritage Expeditions’ Open Bridge Policy means you are welcome to observe the Captain and crew at work while enjoying some of the ship’s best views. It’s a fascinating place to learn about navigation and vessel operations, however please note the Bridge will be closed when departing or arriving at port. Dining Room  – Indulge in fine international cuisine from our talented chefs in the lavish surrounds of our Dining Room on Deck 4. Sensational 270-degree views provide a stunning backdrop to meals here along with an international wine list featuring many outstanding regional wines. With relaxed seating arrangements, all guests can enjoy dining in a single sitting from hearty breakfasts setting you up for the day’s adventure to sumptuous lunches and multi-course evening dining. Bistro  – Simple fast and delicious meals and snacks are on offer in our relaxed Bistro on Deck 6. Perfect for early risers to enjoy tea, coffee and light breakfast options the Bistro provides great views and opens directly onto a covered and heated teak-deck outdoor dining area. The Bar and Lounge  – The social hub of  Heritage Adventurer, the Bar and Lounge on Deck 5 features seating for all guests. Enjoy a beverage at the bar, sink into an armchair, relax on one of the many spacious loungers and watch the world go by through the panoramic windows or make new friends at the communal seating. This multi-tasking space also doubles as the location of daily briefings and evening recaps with the expedition team. The Gym – Featuring spectacular ocean views, the well-equipped gym is adjacent to the pool, hot tub and sauna in Deck 7’s wellbeing zone. Maintain your routine with an elliptical cross trainer, treadmill, rowing machine, stationary bikes, TRX as well as free weights, yoga mats and fitness balls. Towels are provided with change room and shower amenities nearby. Sauna and Steam Room – True to her Nordic origins, Heritage Adventurer features a dry-heat Finnish sauna and European steam room on Deck 7. Perfect for warming up post Polar plunge or unwinding after a day’s adventures, the sauna and steam room include change room facilities, showers and towels. Swimming Pool and Hot Tub – Surrounded by relaxed teak seating including sun loungers, the open-air saltwater pool can be heated or chilled. Day 1 - Day 1: Port Vila, Vanuatu
Arrive at Vanuatu’s bustlingcapital city of Port Vila wherecontemporary hotels, restaurantsand markets abound. Guestsshould make their way to thedesignated hotel where wewill spend the first night of theexpedition. This evening there willbe an informal get-together atthe hotel for dinner; an excellentopportunity to meet your fellowadventurers.
Day 2 - Day 2: Port Vila
Enjoy breakfast at your leisure atthe hotel followed by free timeto explore Port Vila’s rich culturaland natural wonders includingthe National Museum of Vanuatu,shopping at the Port Vila Markets,visit a local village or take in thegrandeur of the multi-tiered 35metre waterfall and azure pools ofMele Cascades nestled among lushrainforest. This afternoon, transferto board Heritage Adventurer. Thecaptain and crew will be waiting togreet you on arrival and show youto your cabin. You will have time tosettle into your cabin and familariseyourself with the ship; we will alsotake the opportunity to conducta number of safety briefings. Youare invited to join the crew in theObservation Lounge and up on theObservation Deck as we set ourcourse to Tana Island.
Day 3 - Day 3: Tanna Island
Today we have a full day toexplore the paradisiacal outpostof Tanna Island. Located in thePacific Ring of Fire, time movesat a slower pace on Tanna whichis famously home to the world’smost accessible active volcanoMount Yasur. Rising over more than360 metres above sea level, it issaid that Mount Yasur has beenin a continuous state of activitysince before Captain James Cookwho first observed its activity in1774. Traverse dirt roads and passthrough friendly, self-sufficientcultural villages along the way for ashort climb up to the summit wherethe volcano still demonstratesminiature eruptions, safe forguest viewing. Other highlights onTanna Island include spectacularsnorkelling, incredible culturalencounters, stunning black andwhite sand beaches, natural hotsprings and a Giant Banyan Treewhich, at more than 100 metreswide and 80 metres high, is thoughtto be one of the world’s largest.
Day 4 - Day 4: Lifou Island, New Caledonia
Today we discover a tropical slice ofFrench paradise in the heart of thePacific Ocean as we sail into NewCaledonian waters – well beyondtypical tourist routes and into therealm of legend and tradition. LifouIsland is one of three islands makingup the pristine trifecta of the LoyaltyIslands and the largest and mostpopulous of the group. First sightedby French explorer Dumont d’Urvillein 1857 it became a destination forChristian missionaries and several19th Century Catholic churchbuildings still remain (including NotreDame de Lourdes perched high ona hillside overlooking the ocean).Today it is rightly famous for itscrystal clear water, sprawling coralgardens and abundant colourfulmarine life, and tangled tropicaljungles supporting a myriad ofbirdlife including Red-bellied FruitDoves, Grey-eared Honeyeaters,Lifou White-eyes and more.Experience traditions unchangedfor generations during a thrillingcultural exchange at a local villageand discover the gastronomicsecret of Lifou’s ‘brown gold’, the island’s highly sought after vanillawowing taste buds around theglobe.
Day 5 - Day 5: At sea
Relax and unwind following therecent days’ adventures poolside,catch up with some reading, startprocessing your photos or simplyfind a quiet space and enjoywatching your voyage unfold.
Day 6 - Day 6: Norfolk Island, Australia
We have a full day to enjoy NorfolkIsland, a former penal colonywhich Captain Cook encounteredin 1774 and named after theDuchess of Norfolk. This morningwe will have the opportunity toexplore the beautiful St BarnabasChapel. This five-year labour-oflovefeatures mother-of-pearlinlays, stained glass windows anda spectacular vaulted timberceiling. This afternoon discoverthe UNESCO World Heritage SiteKingston, a former brutal outpostfor British prisoners and Australia’ssecond oldest settlement, orvisit the Norfolk Island BotanicalGardens with its 40 endemic,or unique, species including 15plant species considered to becritically endangered. For the moreactive you may wish to walk inthe National Park towards Mt Pitt.The tracks wind through lush palmforests and stands of Norfolk IslandPine leading to remarkable views ofthe island and ocean.
Day 7 - Days 7 & 8: At sea
Enjoy time aboard, relive theadventures of Norfolk Island andprepare for our arrival to NewZealand and the Bay of Islands.
Day 8 - Day 9: Bay of Islands, New Zealand
Wake this morning in the subtropicalparadise of the Bay of Islands,home to more than 140 islands andstunning gold sand beaches. Wehave a full day set aside to exploreand enjoy the Bay of Islands. It washere that much of New Zealand’searly history, both Maori andEuropean unfolded, including thesigning of the Treaty of Waitangi.Visit the Treaty Grounds at Waitangiand discover the significance andstories surrounding the region. Laterin the day there is an opportunity to explore historic Russell, a townof New Zealand firsts including firstseaport, European settlement,capital and licensed hotel. Perhapsenjoy a drink at the iconic Dukeof Marlborough Hotel, explore thequiet coves and beaches at yourown pace, snorkel crystal clearwaters and walk remote whitesand beaches and pristine nativebush on uninhabited islands aswe embrace this magical Kiwiparadise.
Day 9 - Day 10: Tauranga
Enjoy a sleep in or head out ondeck to enjoy our arrival intothe busy Port of Tauranga latemorning. After final farewells, acomplimentary transfer from theship to Tauranga Airport awaits.We ask you not to book anyonward flights until mid-afternoonto account for any delays and thetime it takes to travel to the airport.
