Itinerary

Occasionally our itineraries are updated during the year to incorporate improvements stemming from past travellers' comments and our own research. The information given in this itinerary may be slightly different to that in the brochure. It's very important that you print and review a final copy of your Essential Trip Information a couple of days prior to travel, in case there have been changes that affect your plans. If you have any queries, please contact your travel agent or our staff. We are here to help you! Please note that while we operate successful trips in this region throughout the year, some changes may occur in our itineraries due to inclement weather and common seasonal changes to timetables and transport routes. This can happen with little notice so please be prepared for modifications to the route. The order and timing of included activities in each location may also vary from time to time. For sailing trips the itinerary will be subject to change depending on weather conditions. Your skipper will make the final decision to ensure safety at all times. Generally daily sailing time would not exceed 6 hours. Please note that we will endeavour to sail at all times but there may be times during the trip that we will use the sails and motor or just the motor.

Day 1 - Phuket
Sa-wat dee! Welcome to Phuket, arguably Thailand’s best-known island and certainly its largest. Meet your skipper and sailing crew at 1 pm at the Bullship Bar in Chalong Bay, ready to board. Space on the boat is limited so we recommend bringing a small, soft-sided bag or a backpack (any large luggage can be left at our base in Chalong). The skipper will give you an orientation of the yacht and you'll then begin your journey across the Andaman Sea by sailing towards Ko Rang Yai, an idyllic island about five kilometres from Phuket. The boat will drop anchor in front of a private beach, the perfect spot to ease into sailing life with a dip in the warm water, dinner on board and a beautiful sunset. Welcome to your new life.
Day 2 - Phang Nga Bay
Enjoy breakfast on board before cruising to Phang Nha Bay, the iconic location where the James Bond movie, 'Man with the Golden Gun', was filmed. This is the Thailand you've dreamt about, a landscape of sheer limestone karsts and emerald water where the hardest choice you'll have to make it whether to explore by swimming, kayak or both. Paddle through the bays, inlets and aqua alleyways shaded by towering limestone formations keeping an eye out for the local wildlife calling these little islands home. In the evening, the boat will anchor in an isolated spot in the north-east part of the bay between Ko Klui and Ko Chang, where you can spend the evening slumped in a beanbag reading, eating, drinking and watching the sun dip beneath the horizon. Heaven.
Day 3 - Ko Hong & Railay
Set sail this morning towards tiny Ko Hong and explore its sea caves in the boat's dinghy before stopping at the beach. Strap on a snorkel and mingle with the marine life, or just take a swim and chill out on deck. Ko Hong, or Room Island, is so-called because of the huge lagoon hidden in the centre of the island and encircled by towering limestone cliffs covered in vegetation. Sail on to Railay, a rock-climber's paradise accessible only by boat, and enjoy the laidback nightlife with dinner and drinks ashore, as well as an epic beach sunset.
Day 4 - Ko Phi Phi
Sail today to one of the most talked about places in Thailand, the island group of Ko Phi Phi. This is arguably the country's most popular island getaways and for many, this is the iconic image of Thailand – two islands connected by a great arc of pure white sand, striking limestone cliffs and water that's an impossibly inviting shade of turquoise green. It's an area famous for being the location of Leonardo Di Caprio's 'The Beach', but with an abundance of marine life, shops, restaurants and heaving beach bars, there's something to suit every kind of traveller. Spend some free time hiking to Phi Phi viewpoint, or just enjoy the beaches and nightlife.
Day 5 - Ko Yao Yai
Whatever your enthusiasm for Phi Phi's nightlife, you'd hate to be feeling a little under the weather today as you'll depart early in the morning before stopping at Monkey Bay, just outside of Loh Dalum Bay. This is one of the most beautiful beaches in the whole of Thailand, which is really saying something given the country's endless gorgeous sands. The bay gets its names from its cheeky residents so keep an eye on any possessions you leave on the beach! Grab a snorkel because the water is clear and the coral is near to the surface, and brightly coloured fish dart around inches from your mask. After lunch, continue northwest to the undeveloped, unspoilt Ko Yao Yai. Here you’ll find lovely, lonely beaches surrounded by mangroves. Around the beautiful bays there’s excellent snorkelling, leafy forest trails and sea kayaking to choose from. It’s a great place to relax away from the tourist trail and absorb the natural wonders, somewhere where glimpses of traditional island culture are still seen. Later this evening, head out to the beach to cap off another unforgettable day with a night beach barbecue, maybe grilling up some fresh fish caught earlier today. Relax the night away beside a fire pit, and watch the sun sink beneath the waves.
Day 6 - Ko Racha
Set sail across a postcard landscape of shimmering azure waters and island-studded bays southwest to Ko Racha. Known for the clearest blue water in the area, these islands are a great destination for snorkelling and are mainly home to farmers and fishermen. Get active in the warm and inviting water with activities like kayaking or paddle boarding, or head ashore to take a walk across the island, passing coconut groves and the occasional water buffalo grazing while being treated to some spectacular views. Maybe strap on a mask and head underwater with great visibility and clarity, where you can mingle with a wealth of curious marine life in a protected cove, or  simply chill out on deck and enjoy the view. Spend your last evening on the boat soaking up this unique location and view, and don’t forget to make the most of your wonderful surroundings by choosing to sleep out on deck under the stars.
Day 7 - Phuket
A smooth sail brings you to your final destination of Phuket Island around noon. Stop for your last chance to paddle, swim and snorkel in the waters of the Andaman Sea, spotting schools of brightly coloured fish off the coast before docking in Phuket. It has some excellent beaches and a huge array of restaurants, hotels, bars and shopping, so perhaps take a couple of extra days here to check it all out. This is where your Andaman seafaring odyssey comes to an end. Afterwards you are free to explore all that Phuket has to offer, or to continue your onward journey.
