Think relaxing beautiful beaches, great hiking trails for those wanting to be a little more active and perfect conditions for snorkelling or scuba diving and exploring the unique reef. Mo’orea is a fantastic option for those wanting to spend their honeymoon a little closer to home and wanting to experience a similar holiday to Bora Bora without breaking the budget after an expensive wedding!
Kenya
Africa is an incredible destination (which is why it’s made it on our list twice!). Full of adventure, diverse wildlife and some breathtakingly beautiful luxury lodges to relax after a day out on safari – it’s certainly a memorable way to celebrate your honeymoon. Kenya is probably not the first country you think of when you think honeymoon – but how does breakfast with friendly giraffes, spending the day exploring the Masai Mara and enjoying sundowners overlooking the hippos at dusk sound? A stay at Giraffe Manor, an exclusive boutique hotel where a friendly herd of giraffe call home, is definitely a unique way to celebrate and unwind after your wedding.

Zanzibar
This exotic region on the coast of Tanzania is made up of many small islands and two large ones and is the perfect beach holiday honeymoon option in Africa. Whether enjoyed as a stand-alone destination, or combined with another country in Africa, it is an amazing option for honeymooners. As well as their picturesque beaches, Zanzibar has plenty of water sports to keep couples entertained, a main town filled with lots of local shops to wander through and it has some of the freshest seafood, prepared with an Arabic influence.
Thailand
If you’re after a honeymoon that is a little closer to home and has a good mix of relaxing beach vibes and bustling city to explore, Thailand will tick all the boxes. Start your escape with a couple of days in the capital city of Bangkok, wander Khaosan Road taking in the sights and hitting the shops, visit the Grand Palace and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha (to name a few). Then head off for a relaxing island paradise, with a resort stay in Koh Samui, Koph Phi Phi (Leonardo DiCaprio not guaranteed to make an appearance), Koh Lanta or Koh Chang where crystal blue waters and sandy beaches await! Some islands have more nightlife, some are better for those interested in diving and some have a more quieter atmosphere – all equally as beautiful for newlyweds, it just depends on what you are after!

If you’re looking for a winter wonderland honeymoon – look no further! Picture laying in your very own glass top igloo, looking up at the magical night sky, with the possibility of the majestic Northern Lights flickering above. Enjoy dinner and drinks at an ice restaurant, relax in a snow sauna and jacuzzi and during the day you can enjoy a host of fun winter activities including a husky safari, ice fishing, snowshoe hiking and snowmobile safaris.
