PONANT invites you aboard Le Champlain for an exceptionnal 10-day cruise along the North Sea and the Baltic Sea to discover the wonders of some of the coastal cities of Northern Europe.
Your journey will start in London, the cosmopolitan capital of the United Kingdom, at the heart of global trade and rich with historical heritage and exceptional avant-garde art. Fall in love with this city, a concentration of all things British, enhanced by cultural influences from around the world.
Le Champlain will first sail towards Belgium, starting with Ostend. Among other scenery, you will be able to admire its sea front and the sumptuous Belle Epoque-style façades which bear witness to the town’s rich past as a seaside resort.
Then you will cruise to the Netherlands and reach the port of Amsterdam. You will stroll through the city, which is famous for its canals, and enjoy its inhabitants’ relaxed way of life. Amsterdam is famous for its museums, but you will also fall under the charm of the incredible flower market and the superb façades of the beautiful houses.
You will then sail along the Kiel Canal to reach Germany and the attractive seaside town of Warnemunde, lying to the north of Rostock. There you can visit the Hanseatic town and stroll through its narrow streets to discover the pastel-coloured merchants houses of the Renaissance, Saint Mary’s Church and its magnificent town hall.
Then your ship will chart a course towards the charming town of Ronne, on the small Danish island of Bornholm, which is greatly appreciated by the Danish for its variety of landscapes ranging from granite to great sandy beaches.
Le Champlain will then sail to the swedish island of Gotland and call at Visby, a site that was important for the Hanseatic League in the Baltic Sea around the 13th century. UNESCO Heritage Site, this once opulent city still has remarkably well-preserved ramparts, public buildings, merchant houses and warehouses.
Finally, your ship will head for Stockholm, your disembarkation port.
