1. Is an Exodus Food Trip just for someone who enjoys food? Or are there parts of the trip all travellers will enjoy?
Exodus food trips are absolutely designed for foodies, but are also designed to show case the region to someone who hasn’t been there before by experiencing the culture and customs of the region through its food, whilst seeing some of the sites along the way
2. What sort of unique food experiences can travellers expect along the way? Tell us about some of the highlights.
Highlights include experiencing all aspects of the culinary journey, from learning about specific ingredients and their origins to market visits, participatory cooking classes and demonstrations and dining in some of the best restaurants available. Meeting local people who are equally passionate about their cuisine is also a highlight.
3. A food adventure with Exodus is not just about food, tell us about some of the fantastic wine experiences you have all over the world?
It goes without saying that Spain and Italy are renowned for their wines and with good reason. On both our Spain Food Adventure and Sicily Food Adventure, wine is enjoyed during both meals and during winery and cellar door visits with experts at hand to explain in depth the regional varieties and their characteristics
4. For those that like a more active experience, do you have food adventures that combine both?
Specific food trips are designed to be less active, however food and wine are a big focus on many of our self-guided walking and cycling programmes through Europe. We even provide a wine delivery service in many locations whereby if clients like to purchase some wine during the day, they contact their rep who will head to the vineyard to collect their purchase and have it delivered to their hotel by evening! Many of our small group active trips will also ensure food isn’t overlooked by taking groups to markets to try street food or experiencing great local restaurants. Our Tuscany Cycle trip is very food and wine focused!
5. What sort of accommodation can travellers expect along the way?
Accommodation as with all Exodus trips is authentic and where possible locally run to give travellers a real insight into the region they are visiting. We tend to avoid bland chain hotels which could be anywhere in the world. You may experience a home-stay (on our Vietnam Food Adventure), overnight trains and houseboats, farm houses, guesthouses & comfortable 3 or 4 star hotels on one of our premium departures.
