Description

Join us aboard Coral Adventurer on our special ‘The Solar Eclipse Expedition’ in partnership with the Australian Geographic Society in April 2023.

For a unique viewing position, we will sail to the remote Australian territory of Ashmore Reef and Cartier Islands – a wildlife haven for marine turtles, whale sharks, dugongs and migratory birds. Here, we will view the rare hybrid solar eclipse event from the ship’s decks in the sheltered anchorage of the lagoon. Watch as the birdlife reacts to the celestial event, flying home to roost in the middle of the day as the sky darkens. Enjoy the phenomenon with champagne and canapes, with our knowledgeable astronomy specialists on hand. Later, cruise the lagoon in tenders and zodiacs for wildlife and scenery viewing.

Continuing on, we visit iconic natural attractions along the Kimberley coast including legendary waterfalls, awe-inspiring tidal phenomenon and soaring rock formations carved by immense tectonic pressure.

This is an expedition that features the forces of nature in its diverse glory.
