Description
Discover the beauty of the Adriatic with PONANT on an exceptional 9-day cruise in Croatia. Aboard Le Jaques-Cartier, to discover natural wonders and cultural treasures of the Tyrrhenian and Adriatic coasts.
You will board in Nice, then you will set sail to Bonifacio, the jewel of the far south of Corsica. A veritable fortress sculpted by the wind and the spray, the “sentinel city” will reveal its historical centre and its long-cobbled streets.
You will discover Amalfi and its coast, which are magnificent UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Perched between sky and sea, Amalfi presents amazing landscapes.
You will then take the sea once again to discover Taormina, overlooking Etna’s blanket of snow. Its streets will lead you to its famed ancient Greek theatre, where the quality of the acoustics is exceptional.
Your ship will then chart a course south towards Montenegro where the Bay of Kotor, a UNESCO World Heritage Site will welcome you for a wonderful journey through four mountainous gulfs where sheer cliffs plunge into a deep blue sea.
You will then head to the aptly named “Pearl of the Adriatic”, Dubrovnik, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Surrounded by medieval ramparts, its terracotta-tiled roofs, its palaces, cloisters and fountains are bound to impress you and will plunge you into the heart of Croatian history.
Le Jacques-Cartier will then call at Hvar, known as the “Croatian Madeira” for its mild and sunny climate, and to Rovinj, in Istria. A stroll along the cobbled streets of the Old Town reveals an architecture with Venetian influences, enhanced by the radiant beauty of the Adriatic Sea.
As a grand finale, your voyage will draw an end in Venice the Serenissima and its lagoon. Piazza San Marco, the Doge’s Palace, the Grand Canal and the palaces along the canals will be your last stops on an unforgettable cruise.
