Description
Created specially for like-minded travelers.
Norway is at once a land of history and natural beauty, and a world leader in sustainability. On this voyage along the shores of the North Sea, we explore both.
We begin in Bergen, once the center of Hanseatic trade, and call in ports along the way that resonate with the historical and legendary past: the reconstructed Iron Age village and Viking heritage in Stavanger and the Art Nouveau city of Ålesund. Stunning landscapes and seascapes seem to appear around every corner. Crystal clear lakes, alpine peaks, stunning waterfalls, massive glaciers—these are the core elements of the fjords we will navigate, from the UNESCO World Heritage Geirangerfjord in the north to Lysefjord in the south.
In Bergen, Arendal, and Göteborg, Sweden, we have the opportunity to meet with locals working at the forefront of conservation and sustainability efforts for both land and sea.
To further enhance your experience, this sailing will feature discussions devoted to the topic of sustainability and will include the participation of the Pulitzer Prize-winning author of The Sixth Extinction: An Unnatural History, Elizabeth Kolbert.
