Description
Nothing to clutter the view, just hauntingly beautiful Scottish Highland scenes brought effortlessly to your panoramic window, this together with excellent cuisine and deluxe State Cabin accommodations provides for a truly unique travel experience. This five night voyage on board the deluxe ‘Lord of the Glens’ encompasses the main highlights of a voyage through the very heart of the Scottish Highlands, including a transit of the intricate and endlessly fascinating inland waters of the Caledonian Canal.
The voyage commences at Inverness and continues via Loch Dochfour and Loch Ness to Fort Augustus and onto beautiful Loch Oich, the highest point of the canal, before reaching Loch Lochy and finally to Corpach (Fort William) which lies in the shadow of Ben Nevis and the gateway to the sea. At Corpach there is time to take the famed ‘West Highland Line’ train to Glenfinnan (Viaduct) returning to ‘Lord of the Glens’ via the Glenfinnan Monument.
At Corpach the ‘Lord of the Glens’ passes through the sea lock and enters the serenely beautiful sheltered waters of Loch Linnhe and then it is onto the Sound of Mull, and to the gaily painted waterfront at Tobermory. The voyage concludes with a call at Craignure (Isle of Mull) for the visit to Duart Castle before reaching the ‘gateway of the isles’ at Oban.
