Description

Explore Queen Charlotte, Kenepuru and Pelorus Sounds and D’Urville Island aboard the Fiordland Jewel.

Join us on board the Fiordland Jewel on a six-night expedition to experience the natural beauty and tranquility of the Marlborough Sounds. Relax and take in the scenery while exploring the hidden bays and coves of Queen Charlotte, Kenepuru and Pelorus Sounds and d’Urville Island and keeping an eye out for seals, penguins, dolphins and native sea birds.

There will be opportunities to head ashore for short walks and visits to historic and natural sites, this area is steeped in Maori and European history. Maori canoes first visited these waters 1000 years ago. In 1642 Abel Tasman sailed past d’Urville Island; French and Russian explorers followed; and in the 1770s Captain James Cook arrived.

Enjoy the delights of this region’s produce, our talented on board chef will be highlighting the local seasonal produce and the seafood of this region and we’re also planning some shore excursions to local eateries and aquaculture farms too.

Immerse yourself in the scenery, nature and history and discover the best of what this region has to offer.

Individual cabins can be booked for yourself, your small group of family and friends, or as a couple, for an experience you’ll be talking about for years to come. Larger groups can charter private sailings. Maximum of 18 passengers.
