Join us as we celebrate our last cruise of the season — a 9-day sail on the Hudson River Long Island Sound and Narragansett Bay showcasing the brilliant fall foliage decorating the shoreline.

You’ll embark at in New York City. Choose the “Early Arrival” option and check in a day early. Once underway, we’ll make for Newburgh, NY. During its heyday Newburgh was a manufacturing powerhouse. More recently, the city initiated an ambitious renewal plan that included, as you’ll see, its waterfront. Here, you will be able to visit the historic United States Military Academy at West Point.

Next is Catskill, NY, home of 19th-century American painter and founder of the Hudson River School, Thomas Cole. From there, we sail to Troy, NY, known for its Victorian architecture and being the gateway to the Erie Canal.

Highland Park, NY, offers great views of the Catskill Mountains on the Walkway Over the Hudson, a pedestrian and cyclist span between Poughkeepsie and Highland Park. Then we bid farewell to the Hudson and make for Long Island Sound, where nature shows its colors in one last hurrah, before giving way to another Northeast winter.

In Mystic, CT, you can visit the seaport and marvel at the meticulously restored 19th century seafaring village. You’ll also want to spend time at the Mystic Aquarium, a world class facility that features “touch pools” for sharks and rays, an African penguin exhibit, plus the only beluga whales in New England. Then in Newport, RI, you may opt to tour the “summer cottages,” of the uber-wealthy class built during the Gilded Age.

In Fall River, MA, visit the Battleship Massachusetts and other collections of WWII naval vessels. One last stop before we conclude our trip, visit historic Bristol, RI, home to the nation’s oldest Independence Day Parade. Here you can tour the Herreshoff Marine Museum to learn what it takes to make a world-class sailing yacht. Finally, we dock in Warren, RI, our home port. She was completely renovated in 2009, with new furniture and décor in the lounge, cabins and dining rooms, and sparkling new showers and bathrooms. So whether you find yourself chatting under the glimmering canopy lights of the top deck, or enjoying a lazy morning in your cabin, the Grande Caribe was built with you in mind.

Day 1 - Day 1 New York, NY
Considered by many to be the cultural, financial and media capital of the world, board our vessel at Chelsea Piers. Spend the day exploring the city. Visit the eclectic markets and shops in Chelsea or venture to the acclaimed museums on the Upper East Side.
Day 2 - Day 2 Newburgh, NY
After cruising past the Hudson’s dramatic Palisades, tour the amazing U.S. Military Academycampus.* Take some time to explore this transportation hub. Situated between Albany and New York City, Newburgh was once an industrial feat that produced fabrics, tools, furniture and more. In fact, Newburgh was the second city to boast electric lights on city streets. After a series of prosperous years as well as unfortunate ones, today Newburgh is home to a slew of new local antique shops, galleries and bakeries.
Day 3 - Day 3 Catskill, NY
Once a town of only ten houses, explore the city on the other side of the Rip Van Winkle Bridge. Home of Dutchman's Landing, a port with access to the Hudson, Catskill has been home to some noteworthy historical figures. 8th president of the United States, Martin van Buren, was married here and congressman John Adams died here. Thomas Cole, who started the Hudson River School, was also a longtime resident. He is honored by the Cole House, where tours are available.
Day 4 - Day 4 Troy, NY
Famed for its 19th century architecture, the city is a gateway to the Erie Canal. Troy is noted for a wealth of Victorian architecture downtown and elaborate private homes in various neighborhoods. This city boasts several churches with a concentrated collection of stained glass windows by Louis Comfort Tiffany. Troy is also home to the world renowned "Troy Music Hall", formerly "Troy Savings Bank Music Hall" dating from the 1870s, in this facility, there are nothing but superb acoustics. Troy is also famous for being a gateway to the Erie Canal.
Day 5 - Day 5 Highland Park, NY
Experience Walkway over the Hudson, the world’s longest elevated pedestrian bridge with breathtaking views 212 feet above water. Having been remodeled in 2009, this industrial feat is now a National Park. While strolling on the Walkway, you may look North to the Catskill Mountains or South to the Hudson Highlands, both are major sights to behold.
Day 6 - Day 6 Mystic, CT
Explore the historical seaport village of Mystic, home to the nation’s leading maritime museum. This port is a major New England tourism destination. Mystic Aquarium, while also doing groundbreaking marine research, is a popular stop for all ages looking to engage with all kinds of wildlife.
Day 7 - Day 7 Newport, RI
It's hard to day what Newport is best known for. From it's famed bridge, celebrity sightings to historic mansions, Newport has a number of claims to fame. While you're stopped here, enjoy a stroll around the city, take in the views of colonial era houses and maybe pass by one of the universities located here. You may opt to tour the Newport mansions or cruise by the summer homes of former presidents John Kennedy and Dwight Eisenhower.
Day 8 - Day 8 Fall River, MA & Bristol, RI
Hosting the largest collection of World War II naval vessels, Fall River was also once the largest textile producing center in the U.S. Today, this city is better known for it's Portuguese heritage and ghost stories. Head now, to Bristol, RI, home of the oldest celebrated Independence Day festivities in the U.S. The streets are lined with red, white and blue year round! Here is also where the university named for Rhode Islands founder, Roger Williams, is held.
Day 9 - Day 9 Warren, RI
Blount’s headquarters is in Warren, RI which is also known as one of Rhode Island’s eclectic antique and arts villages. Enjoy the local cuisine on Water Street or drive into Providence and take in the modest city scape.
